Le Grand méchant loup (2013) Directed by Nicolas Charlet, Bruno Lavaine
Comedy
Film Synopsis
Henri, Philippe and Louis are three brothers who all believe they have made
a success of their lives. Now in their forties, they are all comfortably
settled with partners they adore, and count themselves incredibly fortunate
in both their professional and private lives. Then comes the fateful
day when their mother has an accident. This seemingly innocuous event
will have massive repercussions, forcing all of the brothers to re-evaluate
their lives and question whether they have indeed found paradise on earth
or merely a convenient sugar-coated substitute. Philippe's self-doubts
are fuelled by his encounter with Natacha, an attractive young woman who,
for some reason, he finds totally irresistible.
Suddenly, Philippe feels more alive than he has ever known and is ready to
walk away from his present partner, such is the passion that is now surging
through his veins. Henri and Louis follow their brother's example,
both falling for younger women that reawaken their dormant youth with a vengeance.
Henri's object of desire is a girl he met at his judo club, Louis's is a
dazzling single woman that no man in his right mind could resist. It
looks like the tale of the three pigs and the big bad wolf all over again!
Will any of the three brothers be able to resist the sudden onslaught, or
are all of their supposedly stable houses built of straw...?
From Jean Renoir to François Truffaut, French cinema has no shortage of truly great filmmakers, each bringing a unique approach to the art of filmmaking.
