Les Dents de la nuit (2008) Directed by Stephen Cafiero, Vincent Lobelle
Comedy / Horror
aka: Vampire Party
Film Synopsis
Sam, Prune and Alice are creatures of the night. They live for
one thing: to party! Imagine then their elation when they are
each invited to a soirée mysteriously titled the Medici
Night. The venue is certainly promising - an old chateau in the
middle of nowhere, just like you find in those horror films - you know,
the ones where a party of naive young people are lured into a creepy
old house and get eaten alive by the vampiric fiends
within. Sam, Prune and Alice can have no idea that this is
exactly the fate their hosts have in store for them...
Continental Films, quality cinema under the Nazi Occupation
At the time of the Nazi Occupation of France during WWII, the German-run company Continental produced some of the finest films made in France in the 1940s.
In the 1920s French cinema was at its most varied and stylish - witness the achievements of Abel Gance, Marcel L'Herbier, Jean Epstein and Jacques Feyder.
It was American film noir and pulp fiction that kick-started the craze for thrillers in 1950s France and made it one of the most popular and enduring genres.
The cinema of Japan is noteworthy for its purity, subtlety and visual impact. The films of Ozu, Mizoguchi and Kurosawa are sublime masterpieces of film poetry.
