Film Synopsis
In 1914, 16-year-old Roger spends his summer holidays at the family
château in the country. Here he amuses himself watching the
coming and goings of the people around him. His fun is curtailed
when war is declared and all able-bodied men are called up. In their
absence, Roger becomes a busy lover, happily seducing all the women in
the area. When the men return from the war numerous marriages
ensue, so that the many babies resulting from Roger's amorous escapades
can take a legitimate name. Meanwhile, Roger is back in Paris,
resuming his studies...
It was American film noir and pulp fiction that kick-started the craze for thrillers in 1950s France and made it one of the most popular and enduring genres.
Science-fiction came into its own in B-movies of the 1950s, but it remains a respected and popular genre, bursting into the mainstream in the late 1970s.
