Film Synopsis
Everything is prepared. At a New Year's party organised by
Brigitte, Oulage has it all planned so that he can finally seduce the
girl he loves. It's now or never, because Brigitte is hosting a
fancy dress party at her parents' house. The only thing that
Oulage has overlooked is the gang of parasites who are determined to
ruin his plans for the evening. They include: an ex-girlfriend
from Alsace, a manic-depressive police chief, a drug addict desperate
for his next fix, a ravishing illegal immigrant from Cuba, and many
others...
It was American film noir and pulp fiction that kick-started the craze for thrillers in 1950s France and made it one of the most popular and enduring genres.
Franz Kafka's letters to his fiancée Felice Bauer not only reveal a soul in torment; they also give us a harrowing self-portrait of a man appalled by his own existence.
From its birth in 1895, cinema has been an essential part of French culture. Now it is one of the most dynamic, versatile and important of the arts in France.
