Les Reines du ring (2013) Directed by Jean-Marc Rudnicki
Comedy
Film Synopsis
As a result of serving a protracted stretch in prison, Rose, a 30-year-old
living in the north of France, finds she has become estranged from her son
Michaël. She works long hours in a supermarket but is eager to
reconnect with her son, a sulky 11-year-old who prefers the company of his
adolescent friends to that of his mother. Realising that her son has
a keen interest in wrestling, Rose decides to create her own wrestling team
with her friends and work colleagues. It is a desperate gamble, but
will Michaël respond kindly to his mother's attempts to connect with
him or will it merely widen the already existing gulf between them...?

The brighter side of Franz Kafka
In his letters to his friends and family, Franz Kafka gives us a rich self-portrait that is surprisingly upbeat, nor the angst-ridden soul we might expect.
It was American film noir and pulp fiction that kick-started the craze for thrillers in 1950s France and made it one of the most popular and enduring genres.
In the 1940s, the shadowy, skewed visual style of 1920s German expressionism was taken up by directors of American thrillers and psychological dramas, creating that distinctive film noir look.
