Comedy / Drama

Film Synopsis

One rainy evening in Brussels brings about an unlikely rencontre, between housewife Jocelyne and call-girl Marthe.  The two women could hardly be more different.  The former lives a predictable, well-ordered life, without a man.  The latter lives a more chaotic existence, with too many men.  How strange that Fate should bring together two such very different women...

Franz Kafka's letters to his fiancée Felice Bauer not only reveal a soul in torment; they also give us a harrowing self-portrait of a man appalled by his own existence.

The best of American film noir

In the 1940s, the shadowy, skewed visual style of 1920s German expressionism was taken up by directors of American thrillers and psychological dramas, creating that distinctive film noir look.
The best of Indian cinema

Forget Bollywood, the best of India's cinema is to be found elsewhere, most notably in the extraordinary work of Satyajit Ray.
