Film Synopsis
Maden is an ordinary-looking seventeen year old who is contentedly spending
her summer holidays on the sunny island of Ré. She divides her
time between her bedroom and the beach, with her large family consisting of
numerous cousins constantly all around her. Nearby, there stands a
prison - an unmistakably masculine totem that exerts a strange fascination
over the teenager. Unbeknown to her father, Maden has been corresponding
with one of the prison inmates. It is torment for her to wait for the
post each day, expecting clandestine missives from her secret confidant.
At times, she cannot help feeling like a prisoner herself, trapped in a sort
of protective cocoon that becomes increasingly oppressive. In a few
years' time things will be very different - maybe...
