Film Synopsis

In the 1980s, Stéphanie grew up in La Courneuve, in the north-eastern suburbs of Paris.  With her mother away from home, she suffered at the hands of her brutal step-father and it was not long before she made up her mind to break free of her gloomy existence.  With the support of her grandmother and her passion for dancing, Stéphanie was able to make her way in her neighbourhood, a place where friendship counts for everything.  One day, she knows she will leave the area to pursue the life she has always dreamed of...
