Film Synopsis
In the 1980s, Stéphanie grew up in La Courneuve, in the
north-eastern suburbs of Paris. With her mother away from home,
she suffered at the hands of her brutal step-father and it was not long
before she made up her mind to break free of her gloomy
existence. With the support of her grandmother and her passion
for dancing, Stéphanie was able to make her way in her
neighbourhood, a place where friendship counts for everything.
One day, she knows she will leave the area to pursue the life she has
always dreamed of...
In the 1910s, French cinema led the way with a new industry which actively encouraged innovation. From the serials of Louis Feuillade to the first auteur pieces of Abel Gance, this decade is rich in cinematic marvels.
Science-fiction came into its own in B-movies of the 1950s, but it remains a respected and popular genre, bursting into the mainstream in the late 1970s.
