Film Synopsis

Bored with staying at home with her parents, Lise finds herself a job as a waitress.  This is how she comes to meet Fausto, a sailor with whom she has a brief liaison.  Pursued by the police, Fausto abandons Lise, and some months later she gives birth to his child.  The infant dies a short time afterwards.  Devastated, Lise steals a baby but is arrested and tried.  She is finally acquitted and reunited with Fausto, who has been proven innocent.
