Film Synopsis

At the start of the 13th century, Robin Longstride, a humble archer in the service of the English crown, attends the death of his monarch, Richard the Lion Heart, in Normandy, shortly after the latter's return from the third Holy Crusade.  On his return to Nottingham in England, Robin discovers that the country is plagued with corruption, the result of the ineptitude of Richard's successor, King John.  Robin soon makes an enemy in the Sheriff of his county, but forges an alliance with the beautiful and impetuous Lady Marianne.  Robin assembles a happy band of marauders who will help him in his attempts to oppose the vile Sheriff and restore justice to his homeland.  The legend of Robin Hood is born...
