Film Synopsis

In 1962, Rego Boccara returns to à Paris after his military service in Algeria.  He is glad to be reunited with his mother, Emma, a modest fruit and vegetable seller in the market, and his young brother Antoine.  Before he left for Algeria three years ago, Rego had embarked on a promising career as a rock singer. With the help of a Samuel, a family friend, he manages to make contact with a record producer, Nadia, who takes him on, on condition that he changes his name to John B. Cutton.  Rego's dreams of stardom are threatened by a rival producer Firmani and his brother, who falls madly in love with his music teacher...
