Trois artilleurs au pensionnat (1938) Directed by René Pujol
Comedy
Film Synopsis
Three reservists appear to be having a happy time in the army.
One evening, they break into a girl's boarding school, mistaking it for

uniforms for the dresses of three teachers, but end up being caught up
in a series of increasingly absurd situations...

The greatest French Films of all time
With so many great films to choose from, it's nigh on impossible to compile a short-list of the best 15 French films of all time - but here's our feeble attempt to do just that.
Continental Films, quality cinema under the Nazi Occupation
At the time of the Nazi Occupation of France during WWII, the German-run company Continental produced some of the finest films made in France in the 1940s.
In the 1940s, the shadowy, skewed visual style of 1920s German expressionism was taken up by directors of American thrillers and psychological dramas, creating that distinctive film noir look.
