Film Synopsis

During the Franco-Prussian war of 1870, in the vicinity of Sedan, Léon, a French soldier, and Fritz, a German soldier, meet whilst bathing in a river.  They strike up an immediate friendship and end up putting on each other's uniforms by mistake.  Separated from their respective patrols, the two soldiers take refuge in a farm, where they are welcomed by a lively grandmother.  The latter's attractive daughter Marguerite soon comes between the two men...
