Film Synopsis
Julien Saint-Dominique, alias The Tiger, is an agent with the French
secret services. Whilst on a mission in Cannes, he is present
when his friend Félix is shot in the back. The latter is
on the point of passing on to him some vital information about a secret
organisation controlled by an Asiatic power that intends provoking a
war between East and West. The Tiger is sent to West Berlin,
where his contact, Raischau, is kidnapped. Having come to the
rescue of Raischau's daughter Ingrid, the Tiger travels to the East,
where he confronts the mysterious Papillon...
In the 1940s, the shadowy, skewed visual style of 1920s German expressionism was taken up by directors of American thrillers and psychological dramas, creating that distinctive film noir look.
