Film Synopsis

Paul Souffle, a car dealer, acquires a black DS Pallas Citroen from the Countess de Saint-Plas.  The car is bought by Jacques Danzac, but as he is distracted with his fiancée it is stolen by two crooks, Gregoire and Hutin, whose escapades end with the vehicle crashing into a tree.  Having been repaired by Souffle, the car enjoys a brief career as a taxi, before being used by a girl to pick up boys.  After being damaged and repaired a second time, the car passes into the hands of some nuns, and then is used by a driving school.  Its adventures on the road end when a clumsy learner driver crashes it into the entrance of a subway.  Now damaged beyond repair, the car is bought by a modern artist, who compresses it into a piece of avant-garde sculpture.  How fitting that it should end up being sold as a work of art to the countess who first owned it...
