La Forêt de Quinconces (2016) Directed by Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet
Comedy / Drama
aka: Fool Moon
Film Synopsis
Paul and Ondine have been together for several years, but finally the latter
decides to call an end to their relationship. Paul is devastated by
the break-up and swears that he will never love another woman so long as
he lives. To prove the point, he intends to seduce women and then callously
abandon them, once he is sure they have fallen in love with him. His
first victim is Camille, an attractive young woman he meets in the metro.
Camille is easily bewitched by the good-looking Don Juan, but she has absolutely
no intention of letting him walk away from her once he has charmed his way
into her affections. Meanwhile, Ordine has had second thoughts about
ending her affair with Paul and decides to give it another go. Paul
finds himself in the unenviable position of being torn between a love affair
that is about to go off like a volcano and one that he thought had run its
course...
Since the 1920s, Hollywood has dominated the film industry, but that doesn't mean American cinema is all bad - America has produced so many great films that you could never watch them all in one lifetime.
Franz Kafka's letters to his fiancée Felice Bauer not only reveal a soul in torment; they also give us a harrowing self-portrait of a man appalled by his own existence.
Science-fiction came into its own in B-movies of the 1950s, but it remains a respected and popular genre, bursting into the mainstream in the late 1970s.
