Film Synopsis
When his wife dies, Socrate pays a return visit to his native Corsica, after
an absence of forty years. He is accompanied by his
son, Antoine, who has never seen the country before. Not long
after Socrate's arrival, one of his old friends is badly injured in an
assault. At the scene of the attack, the police find a lighter
bearing Socrate's initials. Meanwhile, Antoine has met a young
Corsican woman, Marie, and falls instantly in love with her. But
when Marie's mother finds out whose Antoine's father is, she forbids
her daughter ever to see him again...
