Film Synopsis
Thomas Gardesse is a mild-mannered salesman who makes an honest living selling
security alarms. One small brush with the law is all it takes for him
to end up in prison. Surrounded by inmates whose crimes appear far
more glamorous than his own, Thomas passes himself off as The Marquis, a
remarkably adept crook whose real identity has yet to be discovered.
This revelation garners the reluctant prisoner considerable respect but it
is about to lead him into much deeper water than he imagined.
Just before he is due to be released, Thomas is approached by a career criminal
named Quentin Tasseau, who makes him a business proposal he cannot refuse.
With Quentin's help, Thomas manages to escape from prison and is soon on
his way to Manila to take part in a daring robbery which, for a man of his
obvious talents, should be a piece of cake. The humble salesman soon
finds he is well and truly out of his depth, but he is now in too deep to
back out. He has his reputation to think of, if nothing else...
