Film Synopsis

France, 1625.  Cardinal Richelieu has made an enemy in the Queen of France, Anna of Austria, and conceives a plan to discredit her in the eyes of King Louis XIII.  With the connivance of his co-conspirator Milady de Winter, he begins by laying a trap for her most faithful ally, the Duke of Buckingham.  Before he is exiled, the Queen gives him some jewels which were a gift from the King.  Later, at a grand ball, Richelieu hints to the King that the Queen should wear the jewels he gave her.  Meanwhile, an aspiring young swordsman, D'Artagnan, has fallen in with three brave musketeers, Athos, Porthos and Aramis.  To save her reputation, the Queen enlists the help of these four to undertake a perilous journey to England to recover the precious jewels...
