Pas folle la guêpe (1972)
Directed by Jean Delannoy

Comedy / Crime
aka: Not Dumb, the Bird

Film Synopsis

Madame Gorgette Morelli-Johnson is a fabulously wealthy widow whose only companions are her staff, whom she treasures greatly.  It has been some time since she disinherited her only living relative, her bohemian nephew Alain.  The person most likely to inherit her fortune is her devoted lady's companion, Marthe, although the old woman also has a soft spot for her loyal chauffeur, Jack Bromfield.  But things are not quite what they seem.  Imagine how Madame Morelli would react if she knew that Bromfield was an ace counterfeiter and Mathe his accomplice, as well as Alain's girlfriend...   Fortunately for the crooks concerned, Madame Morelli is blissfully ignorant of their criminal exploits.  But there's worse.  Marthe obtained her position with her by seducing her lawyer, Gérard Chardonnet.  Blackmailed, the latter is forced to hand over Madame Morelli's will, so that our efficient chauffeur can make one or two alterations for the benefit of all.  Alas, the crooks overlook one small detail that will derail their plans spectacularly...
