Thelma, Louise et Chantal (2010) Directed by Benoît Pétré
Comedy
Film Synopsis
Who would have thought that a car journey to a wedding could be so eventful?
Chantal, Gabrielle and Nelly are three friends, now in their fifties, who
have not the slightest inkling of the slew of mishaps and misunderstandings
that are about to rain down upon them as they take to the road and head for
the island of La Rochelle to attend the wedding of one of their former spouses.
It's an ideal opportunity for the women to exchange confidences and tell
a few home truths, but in doing so they can't help falling out and lamenting
the way life has treated them so far. There's nothing like a car journey
to make or break a friendship, and, as these three feisty fifty-year-olds
soon discover, a trouble shared is a trouble trebled...
From Jean Renoir to François Truffaut, French cinema has no shortage of truly great filmmakers, each bringing a unique approach to the art of filmmaking.
