Otar Iosseliani is a Georgian-French film director and screenwriter. He was born in Tbilisi, Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic on 2nd February 1934.

His best films as a film director include Sept pièces pour cinéma noir et blanc (1983), La Chasse aux papillons (1992) and Chantrapas (2010), and whose best work as a screenwriter include Seule, Georgie (1995), Brigands, chapitre VII (1996) and Lundi matin (2002).
