A variation on the standard Mandelbrot plot, the Buddhabrot is so-called
because it resembles the figure of Buddha seated in meditation. The diagram is
rendered using an algorithm originally developed by Melinda Green in 1993.

These Buddhabrot images were obtained using a
simple algorithm that can
easily be programmed on your computer. If the algoritm is tweaked
even further a very different set of images can be obtained, which we
term Buddhabrot Mutants.
