Film Synopsis
News radio station R2I sends its best reporter, Frank Bonneville, and
his sound engineer, Albert Poussin, to Iraq to make a special report on
the country. Albert is suffering from chronic depression after
learning that his wife has just left him; he doesn't yet know that this
was the result of a one night stand that his wife had with Frank.
When Albert loses the money and air tickets, the two men decide to
fabricate their news stories and send in reports from
Paris. Things get a little out of hand when they pretend to have
been taken hostage and a national campaign is launched to get them
released...

Kafka's tortuous trial of love
Franz Kafka's letters to his fiancée Felice Bauer not only reveal a soul in torment; they also give us a harrowing self-portrait of a man appalled by his own existence.
Continental Films, quality cinema under the Nazi Occupation
At the time of the Nazi Occupation of France during WWII, the German-run company Continental produced some of the finest films made in France in the 1940s.
In the 1910s, French cinema led the way with a new industry which actively encouraged innovation. From the serials of Louis Feuillade to the first auteur pieces of Abel Gance, this decade is rich in cinematic marvels.
